Our project was a statement inspired by Nature - the life force, which is tireless in it's efforts to survive and revive. This project inspired expressed the random appearance of nature in our controlled environment- or is it? Cracks in walls that spout figtrees, micro forests living in old building gutters, the completely strategic yet random character of nature that we are part of.
The site is 195 King Street. The design was inspired by William Morris, social commentator, the title of work "Second Nature' by writer and gardener Michael Pollan who expresses his relationship with the earth.
“By imitating nature in void and desolate spaces we can invigorate and liven urban living.” A special thanks to Terrence Stanton, Pete Cuppaidge and Newcastle Scaffolding.
Adrian Hill and others are trying to secure a removable garden at this site, today.
